Today we learnt how to create a basic wall and texture it. to start we made the wall using a primitive poly plane. I rotated the plane 90 degrees to stand upright as a wall does. Then using the uv editor i mapped out half of the poly plane. i only mapped half because i was only texturing one side of the wall, i saved the uv map and opened it in photoshop, now i could find a brick wall on google images and place it into my uv map. with the brick wall aligned with the uv map i saved it again, this time as a texture map. now i had to create a bump map. i made my brick wall black and white using photoshop, now i could save it as a bump map. all that was left to do now was to apply the textures to my poly plane. i assigned a new material to my poly plane, selecting a lambert i chose my texture map file to apply. once applied and i had pressed 6, the poly was textured. now i applied a bump map using the same process only this time i chose my bump map file. now the wall has a 3d effect.
